"Regarding Ovis aries (sheep) and Rhinolophus sinicus (chinese horseshoe bat), the initial analysis revealed the presence of at least one ORF-abolishing mutation in both species. Nevertheless, through mutational SRA validation, two distinct scenarios were observed (Supplementary File 10): approximately 50% of aligned reads supported the presence of a premature stop codon in the CORT gene of these species, with the remaining set of aligning reads supporting the absence of a premature stop codon in the same species." |
